El Camino ARTRV presents Last Chance Salon, a one-night interactive performance staged in a vintage RV on the streets of Bushwick by C & P friend Heather Morgan in collaboration with Etta Place, Fleury Rose, and Tomahawk Salon.

Last Chance Salon is the final rest stop on the road to fortune. We are all headed there. Why not gaze into the mirror and reinvent what you see? Glamour is most thrilling when it carries the merest whiff of desperation. When you step into the RV salon, the flawed and fragile beauties of Heather Morgan‘s painted ladies will gaze back at you. Sit down, have your nails done, your hair teased if not tormented, your fortune told, your picture taken. You can’t fight fate, but you can take your chances.

Kicking off Bushwick Open Studios weekend on Friday, June 3rd from 7 to 10 p.m. on Porter Avenue in Brooklyn, Last Chance Salon is a multi-media exhibition featuring, paintings and performance by Heather Morgan, nail art by Fleury Rose, tarot card readings by Zemfira, by complementary hair stylings by Tomahawk Salon, a vintage costume rack and photo shoots to capture the transformations. All the world is a stage; come and play your part.

Cheap & Plastique Take Fountain

Cheap & Plastique is pleased to announce that we shall be presenting at the Fountain Art Fair, March 3 — 6. We have brought many talented, emerging artists to our glossy pages and our internetz over the years, and this year we are bringing them to the boat. Our corner of the art fair will include the photography and design of C & P‘s own Christine Navin, prints by Nathan Wasserbauer, paintings by long time C & P contributor Heather Morgan, and the photography of fellow art blogger and fancy lady, Kelsey Bennett.

If last year’s festitvities and the downstairs “Murder Lounge” are any indication, the Fountain Exhibit is the place to be, a gallery of wood and iron rollicking on the Chelsea Pier, decked in the edgy work of some of the city’s most illustrious characters.
